- both mav and merlin have started their training with their masters sagat and ryu each, at this time both boys were not friends, they hated each other, and were heated rivals, much like ryu and sagat, now both were being trained and little did sagat and ryu know, their paths will meet on the battle field, but they won't fight, during the fall season in japan where mav's home is, living with sailor senshi rei hino, he saved him from the mean streets of tokyo and is raising this young man while merlin jealous of mav for having a loving mom starts bullying him while training, mav endures a lot of bullying, and it piled up, so merlin organized one day to humiliate mav in front of the whole school, merlin vs mav was about to go down in a serious after school brawl, teachers payed not to intervein by merlins orders or they don't get their bonuses, only one teacher ms.haruna was on mav's side, but was pushed into a closet, she knew the fight was gonna happen, and she would of saved the boy, but the boy being mav hated school and most adults at this time, he started to trust ryu and rei. sagat and ryu go to meet their students after school and little do they know they come into the school yard and see the fight about to begin, it's merlin inc vs maverick, maverick fighting the head guy, the boss, a boss battle, mav only learned how to use hadokens while merlin already had his beam attack the galaxy destruction attack, and tiger style attacks from sagat. merlin and mav started to fight with ryu sagat and rei being heled back not wanting to go into senshi mode in front of their masters, merlin's goons holding rei back and her being forced to watch, the boys were fighting fiercely, the first half hour resulted in maverick starting to lose and get frustrated, and started to go blind mentally, he loses control of his actions and jumps in for a finishing hadoken to try and end the fight swiftly cleanly too, and merlin saw the attack coming, he lined his fist up for a tiger uppercut, sagat and ryu watched in amazement as to how powerful these tykes are. both being men training young boys, sagat working with merlin to try and do good, but is failing at it. both ryu and sagat talking about how this reminds them of their first fight way back when, sagat heald his scar on his chest, looked at ryu, things are different now. ryu, i would agree. merlin shouted as the men looed back. * Tiger uppercut.* catching mav the way sagat got hit, redeeming his master in the process, sagat looked on with pride, and said enough boys. time to brake it up. mav laid unconscious on the ground. no scar. merlin wanted a mental win over his rival, he walked over to sagat. and looked up at him.* Merlin: did i do good master? Sagat: you were amazing, i dub the, the prince of muay thai, merlin smirked with pride. he looked up and said. merlin: thank you master. * bowed to show respect.* rei ran over with ryu, they brought him home, bandaged him up, mav felt shame, and feels like he brought shame to his martial arts master, and mother rei who he admired most of all.* (( i hope you liked this short story of mav vs merlin the first encounter.))
